Vacuum infusion at Sasga: the foundation of a hull built to last

Yacht hull

When someone falls in love with a Sasga Yachts, it is rarely for a single reason. It is a sum of sensations: balanced proportions, careful interiors, navigation that conveys serenity. Behind all that, there is something that is not seen but is felt: doing things well, from the inside.

At Sasga we believe that a good yacht is defined by what sustains it over time. That is why, an essential part of our way of building is found in a technique that has revolutionised modern naval construction: vacuum infusion.

What is vacuum infusion and why is it relevant for the owner?

Vacuum infusion is an advanced lamination process that allows hulls to be manufactured that are structurally more efficient: lighter, more resistant and more homogeneous.

Unlike traditional methods, Sasga places the dry fibres in the mould, compacts them under a hermetic bag and the resin is impregnated in a controlled way thanks to vacuum. The result is a more uniform, more compact and more durable laminate.

  1. Less unnecessary weight → more efficiency and lower fuel consumption.
  2. More structural resistance → more stable and safe navigation.
  3. Greater homogeneity → a yacht more resistant to the passage of time.

A hull that behaves as a single block

Vacuum infusion allows the hull to behave as a compact and coherent set. The precise distribution of materials and the absence of voids guarantee a robust and silent structure:

  • without bubbles,
  • without soft zones,
  • without excess material,
  • without internal imperfections.

This gives you a yacht that is solid, silent and balanced.

Osmosis: prevention from design and manufacture

A hull manufactured by infusion has much less porosity than one laminated by hand. This greatly reduces the risk of osmosis. At Sasga, we have managed to prevent or delay osmosis for decades, thanks to: optimal lamination compaction, precise control of the amount of resin, use of specific gelcoats and chemical barriers.

Sustainability and safety

Vacuum infusion significantly reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds during construction. In addition, it allows a more efficient use of materials, reducing waste.

A Sasga is not just beautiful: it is designed to last longer and cruise better

  • Lower consumption and greater range, thanks to optimised weight.
  • Better stability, even in formed seas.
  • More silence on board, by avoiding internal vibrations.
  • Greater structural rigidity.
  • A hull that ages more slowly, maintaining value and performance year after year.

When you choose a Sasga, you choose how you want to cruise

Vacuum infusion is not a theoretical exercise: it is a statement of intent. It is the foundation that allows Sasga to build yachts that offer tranquillity, durability and true Mediterranean quality.
