Sasga Around the World – Olaf Naether, Mallorca

Olaf Naether has just completed his first summer on board his Menorquín 34HT.

When did you acquire your Sasga Yachts?

I have been a Sasga owner for five months. We purchased it in June 2024.

Which model is it?

It is a 34 Hard Top from the Menorquín range.

What is your favourite place to sail?

We sail in Mallorca, so we have many opportunities to anchor in beautiful coves around the island. Our favourite areas are the island of Cabrera, south of Mallorca, and the small island of Espalmador, north of Formentera.

Do you usually go out for the day or for longer trips?

When we set course for Cabrera, we usually spend one or two nights there to fully enjoy the island and its tranquillity.

What is your favourite moment while sailing?

We enjoy every moment on board, but I have to admit that my favourite is watching the sunrise with a hot coffee in hand.

What would you highlight about the boat?

Comfort. For our family —we are three— the 34HT is the perfect boat. Its layout, with two cabins, one bathroom and the galley upstairs, allows us to have our own quiet space when needed. We make great use of the cockpit and the sunbathing area, also while cruising, during meals and as a place to gather.

How did you discover Sasga Yachts?

I discovered the brand during the Palma International Boat Show in 2023 and saw the boats again in 2024. The contact with Jonas, the dealer, has always been very pleasant. He helped us decide on photovoltaic panels and a hydraulic gangway, which provide even more comfort on board.

What distinguishes Sasga from other yachts?

We had several boats up to 57 feet. But with the Menorquín 34HT we have found the ideal boat for our family. The design of the boat and the fact that it is made of wood make it perfect for us.

Are you active in the Club Menorquín?

I am a member of the Menorquín club on Facebook. I joined the group before buying my boat to get information and advice from other owners. There is a real sense of mutual support. The group helped me a lot before the purchase and continues to be a great resource now.
